Back at the burrows once again, the female lays the single egg she has been developing since the earlier visit and both birds take multiple turns of almost a fortnight each to incubate the egg until it hatches at about 53 days.
This photograph is an area where dozens of burrows have been dug and was taken on the night that the birds returned from their three-weeks away.
